Maheshtala College Library was established in 1971, from the day of establishment of the college. It has weathered many storms and but has served generations of students by providing continuous curricular support and services.

        Librarian Krishna Chatterjee, along with library staff Smt Bhanumati Banik and Smt Hashi Majumdar, offered library resources and have been instrumental in making the Maheshtala College library into a hub of information and academic interest. Smt Krishna Chatterjee and Smt Hashi Majumdar served the Library with all dedication till their untimely demise, and Smt Banik served till her superannuation.  They instilled in every student a habit of using the library regularly and keeping themselves updated.

       Teachers of all departments have also helped the library grow and emerge into an active and dynamic knowledge station.
